Introducing Share Factory Studio Bits on the PS5
When I first heard about the new PS5, I first checked how the Share Factory Studio would look compared to the PS4 Share Factory. I quickly noticed a new feature called Share Factory Studio ‘Bits’. I had to find out more, and this is what I found….
What is Share Factory Studio Bits Editor on PS5?
Share Factory Studio Bits Editor is a free new feature on PS5 Share Factory Studio that allows you to personalize and share short game-play clips and screenshots more uniquely and easily, improving your PS5 short clips of less than 1 minute in length.
The Bits Editor gives a variety of editing options compared to the main Video Editor so although many of its features, like stickers and music, are the same, the main difference is the use of ‘Bits Styles’ in the Bits Editor.
Bits works with the PS App so every Bit is available on Game Captures on your mobile phone app so you can download your Bits to your mobile phone and then share your Bits through your Game Base on various social apps. Tutorial coming soon
The Bits feature is only on the PS5 so if you have a PS4 then sadly this feature isn’t available to you and unfortunately I doubt that it will ever be added to the PS4.
What are Share Factory Studio Bits Styles?
Share Factory Studio Bits Styles are animated overlays that go over your gameplay clips to provide entertaining, interesting, or funny additions to your video clips as in the video example below.
There are various Bits Styles in the Bits Editor menu. See a basic guide below (Note: they do often get swapped in and out of the Bits editor so not all below options will be available forever so this is an example only)

Pros & Cons of the Bits Editor
Pros:
It’s nice to have the Bits feature as an alternative so although I don’t think everyone will use it a lot I think PS5 Share Factory Studio is better with it as an optional extra.
Multiple editing features: There are a good number of elements in Bits such as stickers, text, doodles, voiceover, tags etc that give a variety of editing options compared to just Share Factory studio itself so having these as options is nice.
Rebound Feature: The rebound feature that allows a 3-second clip to play and then play backwards creating a seamless 6-second rebound clip is nice to use. It is also in the main Video Editor but having the option within Bits is nice too.
Cons:
The ‘Bits’ feature is only available on PS5 and not available to PS4 users sadly.
Bits Styles aren’t guaranteed to always be available as Share Factory swaps styles in and out so be sure to use the styles that you like while they are there.
Some of the editing features take a little bit of working out like the ‘Doodles’ option I found it to be a bit tricky to get used to but with practice, it did get easier to use.
